The first confirmed case in Turkey regarding the novel Coronavirus pandemic that emerged in China in December 2019 and spread throughout the world was announced in March 11th. 3800 people have passed away since the pharmacist İhsan Giray, who was the first confirmed death due to the virus that causes the disease called Covid-19, and more than 7000 healthcare professional have been infected, the official sources state. The pharmacists and pharmacy personnel who try to provide services as “the closest medical consultant” have taken various measures in pharmacies for protection against the disease and to minimize the risk of infection between the patients. The pharmacies have become riskier due to the increasing crowd after decision of the Ministry of Health to distribute free masks via the pharmacies.
