The People of Sasun
It was recorded that after the Ottoman government's policy of genocide and deportation against Armenians in 1915, nearly 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives, were converted to Islam by force, and the rest were forced to migrate. In the village of Apaga in Armenia, Armenians who migrated from the Mutki (Motkan) region of Bitlis, which they remembered as Sason in 1915, and Ezidis who were forcibly displaced in the same period live together. Muslimized Armenians, Kurds and Arabs live in the villages they migrated to.
